What happened
The Township Committee scheduled a regular meeting for 7:00 p.m. on October 22, 2026. The agenda file is marked “DRAFT” and revised October 15 and 20. Roll call was listed as Committeeman McCarey, Committeeman Blick, Committeeman Croson, Deputy Mayor Kian and Mayor Fine.
The agenda began with Resolution 2026-256, an executive session on Bridgewater Middlebrook litigation, litigation with the Township of Warren/Garden State Joint Insurance Fund, NIP Group and others, land acquisition of Town Center Drive median income units, and land acquisition of Block 24, Lots 2 and 3. It listed a presentation and proclamation for Dance for the Cure, and minutes for approval from the September 24 regular meeting and the October 8 special meeting at the Mount Bethel Meeting House.

Background in the record
The COPS item follows Ordinance 26-12, a $900,000 appropriation for public safety communications and related improvements that the Committee adopted 5–0 on April 16, 2026, per those minutes. The sewer engineering item follows Ordinance 26-18, appropriating $880,000 for a sewer utility generator, introduced 5–0 on May 14 and adopted 5–0 on June 18, 2026, per the June 18 minutes. On December 11, 2025 the Committee awarded PS&S engineering services for the “Stage IV WWTP Generator Replacement” project, not to exceed $65,000, per those minutes; the October 22 agenda describes Resolution 2026-269 as “Stage IV WWTP Emergency Generator Update” and gives no amount.
Discussion
The agenda listed discussion of the Board of Adjustment Annual Report and a public information consultant, and provided for public comment on agenda items and a privilege-of-the-floor period.
