Warren’s municipal offices have worked from leased space at 3 Mountainview Road since March 2026, after a sprinkler pipe failed at 46 Mountain Boulevard on Feb. 8, 2026. Resolution 2026-090 describes “significant water damage” that left the building “unusable for the foreseeable future.” Township Attorney William Willard told the Committee that repairs were expected to take approximately six to twelve months.

The Committee adopted the resolution 5–0 on Feb. 19, 2026 (McCarey, Blick, Croson, Kian, Fine), authorizing the Administrator to execute temporary leases, with $166,050 certified for six months’ rent.

The move ran in three phases: March 18 for Engineering, Fire and Fire Prevention, Human Resources, Land Use, the Township Clerk and the Tax Assessor; March 23 for the Administrator, Finance, Health, Purchasing, Recreation, Sewer, the Tax Collector and Zoning; and March 24 for Construction. The offices occupy Suites 100 and 102 on the first floor. Municipal Court and Police remained at the Municipal Complex, 44 Mountain Boulevard, and Public Works at 1 Bardy Road. Mail continues to 46 Mountain Boulevard.

On July 16, 2026 Administrator Mark Krane reported restoration scheduled for completion by Nov. 25, 2026. On Aug. 20 the Committee adopted Resolution 2026-229, extending the leases through Dec. 31, 2026, with $82,000 certified.

At its April 16, 2026 meeting, the Committee’s resolutions state that the Garden State Municipal Joint Insurance Fund issued a $495,000 check for remediation, Travelers approved a $383,416.63 statement of loss for remediation, and a separate restoration contract was authorized up to $1,444,388.88. The records reviewed do not state a total loss. The Oct. 22, 2026 agenda lists an executive session on “Litigation: Township of Warren/Garden State Joint Insurance Fund, NIP Group, et al.” On Nov. 2, 2026 the Township website still listed 3 Mountainview Road as the temporary in-person location.
