Public Discussion
- Kathryn Hahn, Tony Favour and Javahn Walker urged the Council to adopt a resolution supporting the Immigrant Trust Act pending in Trenton. The minutes record them citing ICE activity affecting legal residents and raids at hospitals and schools, and the need for trust so the community cooperates with local police. A further resident, not named in the minutes, asked for a resolution supporting immigrants and noted that Highland Park and New Brunswick had similar measures.
- Bill Grippo of Pierce Street, asked for a new Food Bank facility, citing overcrowding and parking, and for the YMCA project to be completed within the Council’s terms.
- Robert LaCorte, Franklin 250 Chair, described the January 4 and January 10, 2026 Franklin 250 events.
Answers. The minutes record that the Mayor said the Immigrant Trust Act resolution was not on the agenda and that he would discuss it with counsel. In Council comments, Ms. Francois voiced support for the resolution and proposed adopting it at the next meeting. See immigration ordinance.
