What happened
What the record shows
Attendance
Present: Baumann, Genirs, Kraus, Pochtar and Trapp. Absent: Agrawal, Herrera, Piedici (excused) and Silver. Chairwoman Genirs presided. Board Attorney Christopher J. Sobieski, Planner David Schley and Engineer Thomas J. Quinn attended.
Applications
- ZB25-032 Church Street Properties, Ltd., 30 Church Street (Block 9301 Lot 20), preliminary and final site plan with a d(4) floor-area variance: completeness only. Attorney Robert F. Simon asked to waive a current NJDEP Letter of Interpretation; Schley said the request seemed appropriate because expert information showed no wetlands, consistent with a 2005 LOI. Waiver granted and application deemed complete, 5-0 (Aye Baumann, Genirs, Kraus, Pochtar, Trapp).
- ZB25-027 DeVries, 62 Oakley Street (Block 1304 Lot 10): a covered front porch, two first-floor additions and a second-floor addition over the garage. The applicant offered more plantings to screen the property to the south. Approved 5-0 under the c(1) and c(2) criteria.
- ZB25-021 Barbieri, 8 Southard Place (Block 1202 Lot 4): one- and two-story additions, a screened porch, a new garage and a rear deck. Schley said the deck and porch must stay open. Approved 5-0.
- ZB25-028 D & E Window and Door, LLC, 24 Ash Street (Block 2001 Lot 22): bulk and “planning” variances. The house became subject to all current zoning after its first-floor walls were found unsafe and taken down during permitted work. Quinn said the project adds less than 1,000 sq ft of new impervious coverage and is exempt from stormwater measures. The applicant offered to plant screening trees and share their cost with the neighbors. Approved 5-0.
- ZB25-029 Borsuk, 23 Linden Drive (Block 6802 Lot 11): a variance for existing excess lot coverage, to replace a sunroom’s glass with walls, with 250 sq ft of impervious coverage to be removed and a waiver of the stormwater infiltration requirement. Approved 4-1 (Aye Baumann, Kraus, Pochtar, Trapp; Nay Genirs). The minutes do not record reasons for the vote.
