Planning Board — June 16, 2026
The Board found Ordinance #2599, which revises the uses allowed in the E-1 to E-5 office zones and lists data centers as prohibited in all districts, not inconsistent with the 2023 Master Plan, 9-0, recommending that its definitions move to the code's definitions section. It deemed Amzak Basking Ridge's amended site plan (PB26-002) complete, 9-0, with the hearing set for August 18.

Ordinance referral: #2599
Ordinance #2599 amends the Land Development chapter on uses permitted in the E-1, E-2, E-3, E-4 and E-5 office zones. Citing her memo of June 12, 2026, Fahey said it adds definitions, revises the permitted uses in the office districts and amends the list of uses prohibited in all zones; “Data Centers would be listed as prohibited in all districts” and the ordinance would clarify what does and does not count as a data center. She said it is not inconsistent with the 2023 Master Plan. Separately, Bohn suggested recommending that all definition text be placed in Section 21-3, “Definitions,” a change he called non-substantive.
On motion Bannan, second Schaefer, the Board found Ordinance #2599 not inconsistent with the 2023 Master Plan and recommended that revision, 9-0 (ayes Bannan, Crane, Manduke, Mastrangelo, Schaefer, Seville, Smith, Subervi, Tompkins; Agarwal ineligible). See the data center ban.
